Information

The PAGE is required to process relevant personal data regarding parents, students, participants, trustees, volunteers, teachers, and others who have provided information as part of the operation of the PAGE. The PAGE shall take all reasonable steps to do so in accordance with this Policy. This policy has been created in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The policy was approved by the PAGE Board of Trustees on XXXXX XX, 2019.

Who we are

The Super Saturday Program is run by the Parent Association for Gifted Education, Inc. (PAGE). PAGE is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and is concerned solely with offering The Super Saturday Program. As such, the mission of PAGE is to serve intellectually gifted children early in their lives and to promote the recognition of their significantly different educational needs. PAGE also provides opportunities for parents to learn about the special needs of gifted children and to interact with other parents of gifted children.

The membership of PAGE is comprised of all of the parents, teachers, and volunteers who are involved in The Super Saturday Program. PAGE is run by a Board of Trustees. These Trustees wear multiple “hats,” as parents of gifted children in the program, volunteers performing numerous operational duties and members of the Board.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Forums

The PAGE leverages Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest to facilitate networking and social interactions between parents. Privacy is managed by each of these organizations using their standard privacy policies. Please refer to the following for more details on each:

Media

If you upload images to the website or related social media forums (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to that website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Forms

We collect data relevant for student registrations in classes, teacher coordination, and volunteer coordination. This includes contact information, name, among other details.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log into this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Who we share your data with

Personal data relating to you collected on our website are destined for the PAGE’s own use and may be forwarded to the PAGE’s partner companies so that we may obtain assistance and support in the context of carrying out our services. The PAGE ensures that it has in place clear data protection requirements for all of its third-party providers.

The PAGE does not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes whatsoever.

In addition, the PAGE does not disclose your personal data to third parties, except if: (1) you request or authorize disclosure thereof; (2) the disclosure is required to process transactions or supply services which you have requested (e.g. to update you on new program activities or for the purposes of processing a class registration); (3) the PAGE is compelled to do so by a government authority or a regulatory body, in the case of a court order, a summons to appear in court, or any other similar requisition from a government or the judiciary, or to establish or defend a legal application; or, (4) the third party is a subcontractor or sub-processor of the PAGE in the carrying out of services (e.g. the PAGE uses the services of a payment processor or a class registration processor).

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Additionally, any comments or personal information you post on the website forum will be retained indefinitely.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Student registration data are maintained for archival purposes of the organization.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. The PAGE will endeavor to respond to any such written requests as soon as is reasonably practical and, in any event, within 40 days for access to records.

If the PAGE Headquarters suspects a data breach, the Executive Administrator will notify the Executive Committee within 24 hours of discovery. The Executive Committee will approve a statement to be sent to all affected users.
